Our achievements and the work we can do depends very largely on the funds we have available. Like politicians we are great spenders but unlike them WE have to pay for it.
A truly fantastic raffle has been put together at enormous effort to help this critical need. The value it offers per ticket is truly incredible and the prize chances make Royal Melbourne Hospital and the M.S. Appeal fade into the shade. You received a book of tickets to do your share of the lifting and we are looking forward to receiving the stubs and payment from this book. Naturally Jo will be delighted to provide you with more books to cover your rush of enthusiasm.
If you are reticent about approaching people to buy tickets, even the local political candidate who door knocks you (it's a great way to get rid of them) then I can tell you from experience that family, grandchildren and even mothers in law are all delighted at the thought of a great exciting holiday when you present them with a ticket.
Then there are all the people you can do something unexpected for, perhaps an un-embarrassing gift for a colleague or a different cheer up for a hospital patient, instead of the usual sweets or flowers.
Now, fire up the Rotary spirit, dig that raffle book you got out of the never never drawer and get moving to help make this event a magnificent success.
