From Clive's phone: "Note the sculptures of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln carved in the natural Mt Rushmore rock over a 14 year period 1927-1941 by up to 400 labourers! 450,000 tonne of rock was blasted from the mountain!
Noses and mouth are about 6m long, eyes about 3.5 wide. Can you imagine such an undertaking today???
