IGNITE 2019 - Official opening on 24th October and Exhibition viewing 12-5 pm 24 October - 2 November.
The ‘Ignite’ Project is an important initiative which will benefit a community of people in their artistic vocation and we encourage your support to make the exhibition and the ‘Ignite’ Project a success. This focus aligns with Rotary Melbourne’s involvement in Welfare projects, to include the objectives of the Arts Committee which is to assist and aid vocational opportunities for lesser advantaged groups in our community.
Below is an invitation to the official opening of the exhibition to be held at No Vacancy Gallery, 34-40 Jane Bell Lane (off Russell Street) Level 3 QV Building, Melbourne CBD on 24 October 2019 from 6-8pm.
If you are able to attend, please RSVP to Phil Noack at pnoack@artsaccess.com.au. It would be appreciated if you would send a copy to Peter Berg: pberg8@bigpond.net.au so we can coordinate the Rotary Melbourne attendees.
If you are unable to attend the official opening, we apologise for the late notice, we would still encourage you and your friends to attend the exhibition at the No Vacancy Gallery, which will be open from 12-5pm from 24 October - 2 November.
Ignite 2019 will focus on selected works by ten Victorian artists living with a disability, working across a range of media. The exhibition will this year be run in conjunction with The Digital Writers’ Festival which is an online-first program dedicated to celebrating the work of Australian writers and fostering new relationships through international collaborations.
Club members are encouraged to support this project which is an initiative of the Arts Committee which aims to financially support artists with a disability and give RCM members the opportunity to have a greater visibility of the work of disabled artists and provide a potential source of income through acquisition of high quality artworks.
Arts Access Victoria is the State’s leading arts and disability organisation which delivers community arts and cultural development programs for more than 2,000 people with a disability and aims to facilitate employment outcomes.
Whilst there is no charge for attending the opening event this year, we are asking members of Rotary Melbourne to make a tax deductible donation of $50 per head to the Community Foundation, details to be supplied, which will be passed on to Arts Access Victoria to help cover the costs of the event.
