HAPPY BIRTHDAY PETER - QUIET ACHIEVER

Peter Washusen   30/10/2019 ...73rd birthday by President Kevin

"Peter was born in Ringwood and educated at Lilydale High School on this day in 1946 (73yrs).

Directly from school in 1965 Peter joined the NAB and saw senior appointments in the credit environment in Melbourne Scotland and England.

Inducted on 27th October 1999, the week after PP Austen Burleigh. The guest speaker on that day was BRW’s Robert Gottliebsen.

At the time of his induction Peter was with the NAB as the credit controller for the State Credit Bureau Vic & Tas. Naturally his classification was BANKING CREDIT MANAGEMENT.

Peter and Bev have two sons and 4 grandchildren. They enjoy cruising in their camper and have visited some of the most remote places of Australia.

Peter is one of our quiet achievers who has served the community not only through Rotary as Vice President for Clive Weeks, a member of the Welfare of the Young Committee and as a member and leader of our own “Dads Army” the Lunch organisation team.

Peter also served as an Army reserve, volunteered with the CFA, various sporting groups and his passion for the empowerment and development of youth saw him spend many volunteer hours with the Scouts organisation.

Peter is a great supporter of the Rotary International Foundation having reached 3 Sapphire level Paul Harris and as we approach Rotary Foundation month highlights the important work of this global Foundation.

Peter, congratulations for your birthday today and may you continue to serve the community in good health and with pleasure and live long enough to see those demons win a flag."
