James responded: "We are working with Toll and sent 13 tonnes of food to Bairnsdale on Friday.
We have also got deliveries from Monde Nisan and Coldrex of similar volume planed for tomorrow and Tuesday but will be guided by the emergency services and our agencies about access and storage capacity. Coles will also want to kick in this week but the challenge of agencies and communities ability to receive food will guide decisions.
Toll will do a run in NSW early this week but we’ll then face the same challenges there. We’re also cognisant of challenges on roads in these areas and don’t want to hamper emergency service operations.
Rest assured we are on this and will continue to support these communities as things become clearer and communications improve."
