Progress report 5 February 2020
Presentations: A spreadsheet with the list of booked presentations booked so far is attached. Two presentations have been made so far.
The first was on 22 January 2020 at Camberwell, where approximately 25 Rotarians attended. The second was on 30 January at Brighton, with approximately 40 Club members present. Both presentations were well received, professional and resulted in positive feedback.
Each involved a Hep Vic staff member, who gave an overview and then introduced a lived-experience speaker. Questions were handled well and potential 'Hep Heroes' at each Club were identified. Thanks were conveyed to each Club and to Hep Vic in the wake of each meeting. It was helpful to have RCM observers at each meeting to support the process and the speakers.
RCM Observers:We need volunteers to observe the presentation at the meetings at Bendigo South, currently set for 26 March and Belmont on 6 April. As other bookings are received, we will seek additional volunteers to attend the meetings. Please consider whether you are willing to do this and let Penny Trumble know by email reply: (trumblepenny@gmail.com )
Review: A meeting was held at Hep Vic on 5 February to review the presentation materials, techniques and discuss and agree changes for future meetings. Hep Vic are enthusiastic about the program, responsive to suggestions and keen to expand it to other Clubs.
The major challenge confronting us is getting other Clubs enrolled for presentations. If you have any suggestions please send them by email to Penny Trumble (trumblepenny@gmail.com
District Conference – Bendigo: Arrangements have been made for the Stall at the Bendigo District Conference. The stall will be manned on the Saturday by Penny and a representative from Hepatitis Victoria. Help with manning the Stall will be welcome from other RCM members attending the Conference.
Zone 8 Conference – Alice Springs: We have been advised that we were unsuccessful in our pitch to have End Hepatitis Now on the program for the Zone meeting.
District 9800 Assembly 2020-2021: Arrangements are being made for End Hepatitis Now to be presented to the District Assembly in late May 2020.
Other Victorian Districts: We are looking to publicize the Program to Clubs in other Victorian Rotary Districts. If any members have suggestions as to how this might be done, please email them to Penny Trumble.
