HUGH'S REFLECTIONS ON THE AFTERMATH

"It's both sobering and sublime!!

A trip down the south east coast of Australia experiencing the ravages of fire and flood alongside the resilience of nature and the locals to rebound.

For 105km between Bega and Cabbage Tree, each side of the Princes Highway (Highway Number 1) bore the unrelenting signs of fire, destroyed habitats and homes in rubble.

Still a place of exquisite beauty even in the blackened silence of forests that are quickly springing back to life, in some cases. Still a place of warm hospitality and welcome; Hugs are bountiful and free.

Stories abound and rarely do they avoid extremes of emotion; raw pain mixed with mirth and gratitude."

And some lollies by the look of Hugh's photo of the lolly shop!
