R100 PROJECT IS UNDERWAY

Mary and I hope that you will provide this link via our website to anyone you think may be interested in working with the Rotary Safe Families Program.  The Program is designed as a "preventative" program to inform Rotarians and the public in identifying anyone at risk of violence to women, children and the elderly.

We were very appreciative to have received the generous time and support of:

  • Mal Walden (former Channel 7 and 10 Newsreader)
  • Gerard Mansour  (Commissioner for Senior Victorians)
  • Tammy Lobato  (former Victorian politician and victim of violence)
  • Jenny Blakely (Manager Seniors Rights Victoria)
  • Joe Tucci (Chairman Australian Childhood Foundation)
  • Professor Catharine Lumby (Academic, Author and Journalist)

It was a fascinating day preparing the presenter and watching the filming and autocue system.  Photo shows Sean Meltzer with his filming team.  Did you know that to settle down flyaway hair, you spray a tissue and wipe down over hair!!!

Plans are being discussed to create another film which will focus on violence to men.  This is early days but Rotary Safe Families believes it to be necessary addition to its work.  Thanks to Graham O'Donnell for this planned initiative.
