Our Club office bearers and Manager Jo are to be applauded for their wonderful commitment in terms of Member engagement and digital initiatives to avoid social isolation at this incredible time in our history!
President Kevin’s email message yesterday was inspirational providing positive motivation for us all.
The fabric of our Club and Rotary as a whole has been tested for a number of years with declining memberships and it is critical that we try and arrest this decline.
How often have we heard “ I’m too busy to be involved with Rotary” ? This type of response has generally been driven by the expectations of businesses and employers and financial reward .
We have all had time to reflect over recent weeks and Easter , on our true family and social values and engagement with families , neighbours and loved ones .
I feel there will be a fantastic opportunity going forward for our Club to maintain and build our Membership providing viable options in terms of Luncheon attendance at the Sofitel and /or a virtual weekly lunch.
Rotary Melbourne Corona Fighting Fund is an excellent initiative and the concept of donating an amount for lunch that suits individuals financial position, may have great appeal in the future and encourage membership retention .
