Reflection Barbara Yerondais
ANGUS MITCHELL ORATION 29 th April 2020
"We are meeting in changed times, and Professor Hugh Taylor’s presentation today will remind us of this very important project Melbourne Rotary first began discussions about 5 years ago.
The End Trachoma project sought to improve the health and eyesight of our first nations people.
And it has done more. It has brought Australian Rotarians together for a common cause to End Trachoma.
So today I would like us to reflect on how our indigenous communities are coping in these somewhat strange and dangerous times.
And as we reflect, can we please also acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet, and pay our respect to the elders both past and present, and extend that respect to all indigenous Australians.
And I would like to welcome you all and acknowledge our Rotary Family, in honour of service and fellowship."
