NEV POWER was born and raised in the Mount Isa district of Western Queensland, Nev worked for over 20 years at the Mount Isa Mine involved in both surface and underground areas of the giant Mount Isa mine in the copper and silver/lead/zinc mining and processing complex.
Nev has had CEO roles with Smorgon Steel Group, Thiess and Fortescue Metals Group Ltd.
Nev is one of the country’s most experienced executives and has been tasked by our Government to chair the COVID-19 Coordination Commission advising the Government on all non-health related COVID-19 issues including transport, supplies, and infrastructure.
The commission’s undertaking is to "break through bottlenecks and fix problems" that will arise and to help keep Australians in jobs.
A past member of our Club, in his spare time he enjoys flying his helicopter and spending time at the family Cattle Station ‘Bushy Park’ in Queensland which he returns to at least four times every year to help with mustering.
