LAST WEEK'S REFLECTION

LAST WEEK'S REFLECTION
Thank you Ross Scholes-Robertson.

I learned recently that Amish people have an old proverb saying “kind words and deeds keep our gardens free of weeds.”

Now the virus is upon us our retirement village is in lockdown and visitors names are taken along with their temperature.  Us residents, when we return from outings for shopping and other visitations, go through the same rigmarole.

For me in recovery mode after back operations good wishes from president Kevin and Past President Robert have been inspiring and a lovely letter from one of our lady members received two weeks ago is one that I will treasure.

Contact with others through “zoom” is something I now look forward to for church and rotary.  Also, we have friends from our church and within our village who send us interesting snippets.

Whilst giving thanks that our own lot in life is okay because of the “kind words” we receive, we do need to be supportive of those who are doing it tough.  And that’s what rotary is all about ‘inspiring us members to contribute in every way that we can to support rotary’s drive to make our world a better place for everyone.’
