Cheryl conveyed: "For centuries philosophers have sought answers to these three questions.
What is the purpose of education?
What does it mean to have a good education?
And, how does education relate to life and life’s purpose?
Some believe education should prepare us for the workforce.
Others believe education should be focused more on social, academic, cultural and intellectual development. We could then think critically, and debate with authority on issues of importance.
The true purpose of Rotary is education. To teach and to learn among friends, colleagues, mentors and guests.
May today and every Rotary gathering be one of teaching, learning and debating with authority on issues of importance.
For education and freedom through fellowship and service. We give thanks."
