REFLECTION/THANKS from Barbara Yerondais 1 July 2020
"We have a lot going on and serious matters to discuss today - So, in presenting my thanks today I would like to remind everyone of a new ‘infection’ I suggest we embrace:
Smile: A Poem by Spike Milligan
Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin. When he smiled I realized I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile, then I realized its worth.
A single smile, just like mine could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected!
This poem is often attributed to Spike Milligan; but was actually written by Jez Alborough
We could all do with smiling more, that is for sure. Science is pointing to the health benefits of feeling more positive.
So despite what our guest Peter Costello is going to tell us today
You can’t help feeling better when you’re smiling."
