Sharann Johnson, Malvern group leader wrote: "It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news that John Reynolds passed away this morning. John has been an anchor man for the Malvern Group for over 35 years and will be greatly missed...John was a wonderful person who enjoyed his friends at the Malvern Group. Frances and John were great travellers and there were no end of travel stories about international land marks.
John joined the RCM in 1982. He was a giant in the mining industry working for Western Mining Company. John and I would frequently share stories about the mining industry and in particular Olympic Dam, a copper uranium mine, which he knew very well.
John was awarded an OAM in 1992 for his contribution to the Australian mining industry and in 1995, Honorary Fellowships of the Australian IMM, the Minerals Institute.
I have attached a link to a wonderful interview Dorothy Gilmour conducted with John,

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Frances and the family."
