MEET OUR NEW MEMBER

 Dasun Premadasa was inducted on 19 August with the classification IT - Business Analyst.

Dasun was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where he completed his primary and secondary education before joining one of the leading international software companies at age of 18 which started his IT career. Having worked for several IT organisations in Sri Lanka, America and UK, in 2007 Dasun moved to Melbourne to continue his career.

While at school, Dasun was first introduced to Rotary family through his school’s Interact Club which he joined in 1995. During this period, he held various director positions from community service to finance until his graduation.

In year 2000 he joined the Rotaract club of Cinnamon Gardens in Colombo and became a very active participant within the Rotary movement in Sri Lanka leading various projects. During this period Dasun was particularly focused on carrying out community service projects to help the less fortunate within the community. Dasun became the president of his Rotaract club during the period of 2005/2006 and was a member of the club president’s advisory committee until he left Sri Lanka in 2007.

With almost 20 years of experience in IT industry, Dasun has worked for various organisations in FMCG, Automotive, Healthcare and Software Development industries Sri Lanka, US, UK and Australia. Today he works for Treasury Wine Estates as a Senior Global Business Analyst responsible for Sales and Marketing technologies globally.

Dasun is married to Denise who’s a cancer research nurse and has a 19-month-old daughter. Being Sri Lankan and Scottish, both Dasun and Denise always enjoy having a drink together. Dasun also enjoys scuba diving, hiking, running, cricket, rugby (union), scotch and red wine.
