Today I’d like to reflect on what brought us here; what we signed up for as Rotarians.
We are part of a global organisation of some 1.2 million volunteers, united in a determination to work together with the common goal of giving service above self to the communities around us and beyond; to help make this a better world.
We should do so in harmony, in friendship and with enjoyment, celebrating diversity and inclusion in all its forms. That’s why we joined Rotary and, despite all the challenges of the current environment, it’s actually not hard to achieve
these laudable aims.
So let’s contribute accordingly, acknowledging, in this our Centenary year, the great achievements of the past, and play our part in securing a sustainable future for Rotary here in Melbourne.
Thank you Robert.
