Gi Tae Kwon (Gregory) was inducted on 23 September 2020 with the classification MEDICAL –PHYSICIAN.
Gregory was born in South Korea, where he completed his primary education. He then moved to Australia to complete his secondary education at Brighton Grammar School (BGS) in Melbourne, where he graduated as the Dux of the school (2009).
Following his graduation, he moved to Sydney to pursue his interest in medicine, completing his medical degree at University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2015.
During his time as a medical student, he also worked as the secretary of finance and an executive board member of Asian Medical Students’ Association International (2013-2015), a non- profit, organisation for medical students from across the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
As a medical student, he had developed a strong passion in the field of neurology. Hence, while working at the Canberra Hospital as a junior medical officer, he pursued a higher degree in the field of neurology by completing Master of Medicine in Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Sydney. He is very keen to pursue his career goal of becoming a future neurologist.
In 2020, Gregory returned to Melbourne to work as a general medical registrar at the Austin Hospital.
Having attended a recent evening meeting presentation, Gregory further explored the Club website and determined that joining the club would also be a great opportunity to socialize with people from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds along with the opportunity to volunteer.
Outside his work, he enjoys travelling and reading, especially on the subject of climate change.
