Colour your World
An environmentally friendly project during the pandemic that is not only enjoyable, but also:
- Promotes a healthy lifestyle,
- Gets you outdoors,
- Is a simple idea,
- Is tangible,
- Does not involve leaving your home,
- Is an opportunity to engage Club members, families and friends in a meaningful activity
Bees are naturally attracted to Purple flowers
Spring into your garden with Colour your World
- Choose colourful plants, seeds or seedlings (including vegetables) that support insects, butterflies, birds, bees and other pollinators while adding colour to their world.
- Plants and seeds may be ordered from your local nursery, using click and collect, or via an online site.
- Grow your plants in front and back gardens, balconies, rooftops or in pots.
- Cherry tomatoes grow really well in pots as do most herbs.
- Share information, post pictures and videos of your plants and include colourful bee and butterfly friendly plants already flowering in pots or in your garden
- An add-on benefit is that gardening is well recognised for its positive mental well-being impact.
- What are you waiting for?
Send us your photos and videos so we can highlight the most colourful and impressive from either:
- An existing or new pollinator friendly garden,
- A balcony, patio or potted display,
- A children’s garden or;
- A vegetable and herb garden.
