DIK packing donations for the typhoons in 2018 in Philippines.
"On behalf of Rotary in the Philippines and the typhoon victims, thank you very much for your support and assistance in providing much needed goods from Donations in Kind.
We intended to provide only to the first typhoon - Rolly in the island of Virac, Catanduanes, per the email below from the president of the RC of Virac.
However, in a span of 1 week, the northern part of the Philippines - province of Rizal was inundated with heavy flooding from typhoon Ulysses, causing major damages to agriculture, lives and loss of 140,000 homes.
Our donation is very much appreciated in the above communities and will be distributed by the Rotary Club of Virac,(VIRAC) and Rotary Club of Greater Marikina Valley (RIZAL).
Finally, the last shipment (collated, removed from packaging, sorted, repacked) was picked up from my garage last Thursday, loaded onto the second container shipment, and on its way to the Philippines.
The following devastated areas and barangays are earmarked to receive the donations, to be distributed by Rotary:
