I attended it online as it was a virtual event this year. The students quickly adapted to the change in the running of the event and by the end of day 1 they were debating the various resolutions ay a very high standard.
Our team did well on Saturday with their presentations both for and against resolutions proposed by the various teams. On Sunday they and all the other teams really entered into the spirit of the event and were enjoying the experience.
MUNA this year also had teams from India and New Zealand for the first time and they also participated in the event and I am sure they enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the assembly.
It was an amazing experience for the audience to be able to view all the teams in action. In a normal MUNA assembly you would probably catch bits and pieces of he event but also be busy on other tasks at the same time.
Hopefully National MUNA will be held next and our Team have won the right to compete in it as the D9800 representatives.
The Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise run the National MUNA assembly and at this stage I don’t think they have made any decision about whether it will run next year. I expect we will no more early next year.
Both Manik and Samarth will attend one of our meetings in the New Year and I expect our District9800 MUNA Committee Chairperson Neville Page will also attend that meeting.
Finally I would like to congratulate Neville Page and his Committee for the successful running of this MUNA event virtually which was the first time it has been run like this anywhere in the world. “
Cheers, Christina Boys
