WITH THANKS from BARBARA

REFLECTION: BARBARA YERONDAIS 12.1.21

"Whilst thinking of what positive ideas to present for the new year, following a challenging 2020, A song came on the radio, which started me thinking.  Those of you older than me will know it well.

It goes like this:

“You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you just might find, you’ll get what you need”

So let me share my thoughts:

  1. In a time of record homelessness, I’m grateful for my home
  2. When many of the worlds population doesn’t have safe clean drinking water, even in times of drought we have safe clean drinking water
  3. More than 3 billion people – that’s more than half the world’s population live in extreme poverty – I’m grateful to have a job and some money in the bank
  4. More than 800million don’t have enough to eat, I’m grateful to have plenty of fresh and good food
  5. I am grateful for my family and friends who love and support me
  6. I am grateful for good health and will never take this for granted, and
  7. I am grateful for the mistakes I have made and the lessons I have learnt

So as we start the new year, I urge us all to practice gratitude, smile and share with those who don’t have what we have.
