Reflection - 27 January 2021 - PE Reg Smith
January every year is celebrated in the Rotary International calendar as Vocational Service month and today’s member event places this front and centre here at Rotary Melbourne.
The concept of vocational service is anchored in the second object of Rotary, which calls on Rotarians to encourage and foster:
Today we learn more about the vocations of several of our members and understand how Rotary’s core value of Service Above Self plays out in thinking about the impact of Covid-19 on their businesses and how they plan to respond.
Let’s reflect and be thankful for the diverse vocational talents of our membership which enhances Rotary’s capacity to respond to those in our community most in need.
As the health and economic consequences of the Corona pandemic become clearer, there is an opportunity for us all to put aside our differences to double down and apply our vocational talents to serve our community in response.
