George was inducted in October, 2020 with the classification: Marketing – Digital Transformation.
He is an experienced marketing professional, who has coached, developed and led cross-generational teams with outstanding success. George has brought large and small sales and marketing teams together, maximising their talent and pride, in establishing and nurturing meaningful customer relationships.
George is a driving force who led the steering committee with the development and communication strategy for the company‘s value proposition, aligned to strong values and a positive business culture. The focus to connect people has enabled a growth orientated digital transformation leader with a verifiable history of driving B2B marketing strategies that deliver brand quality, team performance, efficiency, and increased revenue.
He has worked with, and provided advice to company founders, boards, executives, and leadership teams on cross-generational and reverse mentoring programs, business solutions, process improvements, digital transformation and sustainable profitability.
George was born in Kerang Victoria and educated at Caulfield Grammar School. George has completed a number of diplomas and certifications, some of which include, marketing, design thinking from MIT, leadership and management.
He spent most of his corporate working life at NHP Electrical Engineering, a privately held electrical engineering company who competes in the Australian and New Zealand market place against the much larger global engineering companies such as Siemens, Schneider and ABB.
In the 20 years that George was at NHP, he established a well-respected and highly engaged marketing team. As General Manager of Creative Marketing and part of the leadership and executive team at NHP, the business grew from approximately $180M, when George commenced, to more than $420M by the time George left in 2018. He helped guide the company’s digital strategy and was one of the first companies in Australia to trial and deploy, beacon and location based technology to help improve customer stickiness and insight.
George is now a Board member at Southern Cross Kids Camps (SCKC), an Australian Registered Charity. SCKC interrupts the cycle of abuse and neglect in primary aged children by providing an outstanding five day camping program. Many of the kids who attend camp are in the foster-care system and have been subjected to various forms of significant trauma.
George also co-founded Symphony 7 in the midst and during the lockdown here in Australia, and more specifically Victoria. Symphony 7 is designed to facilitate engagement/connections, that will increase business profits to enable forward thinking businesses to exhibit their industry leadership by engaging and contributing to the cause they believe in, thereby making the world a better place for all. The community now has members from some of the most senior people in Australian industry
George is the CEO of his own business and marketing consultancy practice focusing on enabling a stronger connection between the marketing and sales teams aligned to the company’s overall business vision and goals.
George has had extensive experience in coaching and mentoring Millennials and Gen Zs, as well as developing the careers and confidence of marketers seeking to establish and grow their influence and contribution.
George and his wife Helen, have two daughters and they enjoy, travelling and getting together with friends. He is a member of AICD, American Marketing Association, Fellow Australian Marketing Institute and a Certified Practising Marketer (CPM).
