Reflection - Cheryl Lacey

Reflection by Cheryl Lacey  28.7.2021

"Rotary is founded on a unique acquaintanceship that enables good to be done. We gather together, because we want to be together.

We’re in a mysterious position at present, where a grand plan to manage a virus allows acquaintances to meet in hotels yet prevents grandparents from seeing their grandchildren in their own homes.

I am deeply disturbed by this.

Families are the fundamental unit of society. And people thrive when they are in relationships and in the company of others.

Rotary must look at this disturbing management of this virus and its impact.

No matter how great the challenge is to public health, we must honour human interaction, our relationships with others, and most importantly, have faith in our commitment to protect the family.

God Bless"
