Before the big lock down last year I managed to get to see an exhibit at the NGV of two New York artists from the 1980’s. I had read the prior weekend, very critical reviews in both what was then the Fairfax press and New Ltd. The critics were really mean. As it happens, I quite liked one artist’s works and have no idea what was going on, on the canvas for the other artist. It struck me that critics are not strengths based people. At Rotary, when we mentor people in the community and indeed in our own club, we seek to build on people’s strengths, even ones they don’t know that they have. My hope is that we continue to look for people’s strengths both in the community and in our club.
