International Students Mentoring Program

Through Rotary Central Melbourne, District 9800 has collaborated with MentorMatch to respond to one of six Victorian state government challenges to address important social needs in the community. The international student challenge has the objective of “...strengthening social and community connections for international students studying and living in Victoria”. It is not about helping them gain employment nor mentoring them in their chosen vocation.

The mentees will typically be students in their early to mid-twenties who are toward the end of their respective studies.

Further information is available on the website www.rotarymentors.org.au where you can also apply to be a mentor under this program.

The MentorMatch international student mentoring program is looking for mentors who:

  • Display genuine interest in the development of others.
  • Enjoy connecting with other cultures to share and learn.
  • Are good listeners.
  • Have a positive and supportive outlook to life.
  • Have good social connections/networks.
  • Are good ambassadors for Rotary living and communicating the values of Rotary, including the four-way test.
