Each week at our lunches a volunteer brings along a bottle of wine, tickets are sold and the raffle is drawn. This week John Saunders, new member, was on duty. John was inducted on 25 August with the classification Mediator-Arbitrator. In 2011 John retired with his wife Kate to a 10 acre block in Red Hill where they had 2 acres of pinot noir grapes and assisted a nearby vineyard in producing a high-quality wine from the grapes. ADG Murray Anderson was the lucky raffle recipient of a bottle of 2016 Principia “Kindred Hill” Pinot Noir, which had been assessed at 96 points by James Halliday, from John’s vineyard.
NEXT WEEK we will be raffling the traditional bottle of whiskey in honour of long time CWC member Lawton Cooke who many would remember never let anyone pass without buying a ticket!
