Albury:  Friday 22 to Sunday 24 April 2022

We were pleased to receive news on Friday 17 December from District Governor Dale Hoy announcing the first in-person District Conference since March 2019.  The conference will be held in Albury – Wodonga at the Albury Entertainment Centre commencing late afternoon Friday 22 April and concluding Sunday 24 April after an informal lunch.

We have secured quality hotel accommodation for Rotary Melbourne members and partners from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 April at the Quest Albury, located in the historic former Albury Wool stores building at 450 Townsend Street, Albury 2640 - A range of options (Studio rooms, one, two, or three-bedroom apartments) are being held in a group booking for Rotary Melbourne members, discounted by 10% if booked through the Club.  Take a look: https://www.questapartments.com.au/properties/nsw/albury/quest-albury-on-townsend/overview

We have also been advised that Club members will be encouraged to gather for dinner after the opening reception and we have booked an attractive dining experience on Friday 22nd April at 7.30pm at La Maison Restaurant, 40 Lincoln Causeway, Wodonga Managed by Rotarians and host of regular meetings of 4 Rotary Clubs, La Maison is one of the best dining options in Albury-Wodonga.  Take a look: https://www.facebook.com/contactLamaisonCafe/

On-to-conference:  As has been our custom, we can add interest and an opportunity to relax with good friends by joining the Club’s On-to-Conference tour through central Victoria featuring:

  • Wednesday 20 April, first stop is Benalla to enjoy lunch and the iconic Benalla Art Gallery
  • Then to the King Valley for an overnight stop and the opportunity to enjoy the King Valley’s rich history and highly regarded cool-climate wines and European style varietals
  • Thursday 21 April to Beechworth to experience the autumn splendour, gold rush history and outstanding dining
  • Friday 22 April, for the golfers, head straight to Albury to enjoy a round at one of the great Albury / Wodonga courses, or stay at Beechworth a little longer to take in the historic precinct and gold-rush architecture.
