Emma is a Partner with EY’s Climate Change and Sustainability team and is a skilled professional with over 20 years’ experience in climate change, sustainable finance and sustainability practice.

Priori to joining EY, Emma was Chief Executive Officer of the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) (2015-2021), a member based industry association representing and working with institutional investors managing more than $2.2tn in AUM implementing climate change and ESG responses across their portfolios and in their investment strategies.

During this period, Emma was also Environment Commissioner for the NSW Greater Sydney Commission (2020-2021) focused on identifying opportunities for Sydney to become a regional leader in CleanTech, circular economy capabilities and physical risk and resilience.

Previously Emma worked in Westpac Banking Corporation and Westpac Institutional Bank for over 15 years across a range of sustainability strategy and reporting, environment, sustainable finance, climate change, carbon trading and ESG risk management roles. 

Emma has worked directly in the development of finance, investment and business standards and initiatives focused on developing globally leading best practice for the Australian, New Zealand, Asia-Pacific and global financial sustainability practice. Emma was a founding member of the global Climate Action 100+ initiative, and Chair of the Global Steering Committee in 2020.

Emma is a regular media contributor on climate change matters and a respected voice on climate transition implications for business.

Today, Emma is a member of the Clean Energy Regulator’s Corporate Emissions Reduction Transparency Advisory Committee, the Queensland Government Climate Change Advisory Council and Land Restoration Fund Investment Panel responsible for allocating A$100m in funding to carbon projects across Queensland, the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) Greenstar Advisory Committee and was previously a member of the Australian Sustainable Finance Institute Steering Committee and sat on the board of the Carbon Market Institute for ten years.
