What are the Arts?
And what does the arts contribute to society?
also called fine arts, modes of expression that use skill or imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environments, or experiences that can be shared with others.
Traditional categories within the arts include literature (including poetry, drama, story, and so on), the visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.), the graphic arts (painting, drawing, design, and other forms expressed on flat surfaces), the plastic arts (sculpture, modeling), the decorative arts (enamelwork, furniture design, mosaic, etc.), the performing arts (theatre, dance, music), music (as composition), and architecture (often including interior design).
The arts encompasses the creative works of society
So let me focus on an aspect of the creative arts in which I have a personal experience
Placemaking is a multi-faceted approach to the planning, design and management of public spaces. Placemaking capitalizes on a local community's assets, inspiration, and potential, with the intention of creating public spaces that promote people's health, happiness, and well-being.
But we can also make good places in our own realm
We create our homes. Places to feel safe. Places to enjoy our family and friends
But some just don’t have that privilege - and all they aspire to is shelter
Somewhere to be safe for a night or 2.
This too is placemaking – the art of making a home from the little resources one has
So in the spirit of good placemaking, food and fellowship, please give consideration to the requirements it takes a homeless person the make a place
And May the 4th be with you 😊
