Mohammad Faisal Albarbari (Mike) was inducted on the 18th of May 2022, with the classification Finance –Accounting.
Mike was born in Kuwait on 16th February 1980. Ten years later, he moved with his family to Jordan. In June 2002, he got a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business from the University of Jordan, and by October 2004, he became a Certified Management Accountant from IMA (New Jersey, USA).
Directly from university, Mike joined Royal Jordanian Airlines in Amman, and within less than 3 years he moved to the CFO office, as a special assistant for the CFO, for the privatization project (one of the biggest five organizations in Jordan at that time).
In August 2007, he immigrated to Australia, stayed for 3 years, worked for a public practice firm supporting small and mid sizes organizations, and completed his Chartered Accountant certification (CA) from ICAANZ. He then moved back to Jordan, and built the 3 billion AUD FP&A function for Samsung Levant (covering 5 countries). Three years later, Mike moved to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) as Finance Manager for 250 million AUD business (regional partner of LMVH). Then in May 2016, he moved to Dubai (UAE) as the international finance director, leading a team of 80 people across 13 countries for a 500 million AUD business. After 2 and a half years, he moved again to Jordan and became head of finance for a high tech-business. Mike settled in Melbourne in May 2021
Mike got married in April 2015 and has a 4-year old boy (Saif). His wife Rand is a very special-artistic-nature person (can: sing, photograph, cooking… etc) with a high emotional level, while Mike is a very realistic, number and mind oriented person, which makes them a very interesting couple (yin and yang).
Mike has followed soccer for more than thirty years (especially Liverpool FC) and likes to explore new experiences. Therefore, he loves to travel and participate in different cultural events (which is clear through his diversified background and varied life experiences).
Mike looks to raise his son and settle his family in Australia, and believes becoming a Rotary member is the best way to give back to Australia, and be part of the community.
