Ari Talantis was inducted into the Rotary Club of Melbourne on 13th September 2017 with the classification of “Dentistry - Practice Management”. Her sponsor was her husband, Richard Skinner. Their workplace is on the same floor as our Rotary Office so the connection is clear. Ari is a member of the Malvern Group.
During her five years membership of Rotary Melbourne, Ari has consistently been an enthusiastic and supportive member. Almost immediately after her induction Ari rolled up her sleeves and became our website and social media controller driving Rotary Melbourne’s Facebook, lnstagram and LinkedIn profiles and is now our Webmaster.
Ari has consistently been pivotal in the Club’s communication strategy receiving in 2019 the Royce Abbey Award as a relatively new member who had demonstrated strong commitment to Rotary Melbourne, and then her first Paul Harris Fellow recognition awarded by past president Kevin Sheehan in 2020.
More recently Ari played an important part in the mounting digitally of the R100 Peace Symposium, been active on the Reception team, administered online Silent Auctions for the Around the Bay fundraiser, supporting the Rotary Foundation Peace Fellows Committee, and Rotary Safe Families project.
She has been an integral member of the Evening Meeting Team contributing greatly to the professional and warm delivery of these events. Ari became our Volunteer coordinator and, with Richard, became regular Marshals for Around-the-Bay.
She recently Chaired our On-to-Conference Bendigo trek which, regrettably due to COVID-1 9, had to be abandoned at the 11th hour but not before she and Richard had tested and tried the full event.
Whilst studying for her Masters, Ari has found time to join our newly formed Environment & Sustainability Committee manages their blog and is a member of our Membership Engagement Committee.
Ari does not hesitate to put her hand up when something needs to be done - and this is greatly appreciated. We have no hesitation recognising Ari’s meritorious Service Above Self that Ari has truly rendered to Rotary Melbourne in fellowship, administration and our humanitarian projects.
