WithOneSeed = our carbon credits = trees

I have spent the last 3 weeks visiting WithOneSeed tree farmers in Baguia, Timor-Leste. 12 years ago we started with 3 of us, mana Leo, maun John and myself, 12 farmers and 7000 saplings. Today there are 30 people employed, 1,500 farmers and 280,000 trees sequestering over 100,000 tCO2e from the global atmosphere. Over the next 20 years the trees will sequester nearly 1 million tCO2e and tree farmers will earn an annual income. Simple action many people big impact.

Rotary Melbourne recently purchased carbon credits via WithOneSeed and our money is used for tree planting, etc. Garry Fowler is coordinator of all matters related to carbon credits. In the photo below are images of Andrew Mahar presenting the Carbon Credit Certificate to Garry at the 2 June 22World Environment day celebration lunch.

For info re Timor Leste Tetum language – here is the explanation
