Thinking of the Tasmanian Tiger it reminded me that I had relatives in Tassie -one a convict on my mother's side and the other a soldier that first went to Sydney and then set up shop at a place now named Triabunna on the East coast of Tas. He became the largest orchardist in Tasmania but although my Nana was his Great, Great, Grand-daughter no money flowed our way.
I thought it would be good today to reflect on some of the words in our annual Directory. Firstly, our International President who urges Rotarians to dream big, harness our connections and tum dreams into reality. Adrian, our Club President reminded us that we are a Club that helped establish Lifeline International House and launch the Scouting Movement in Australia. We are now in the fight to end Trachoma in remote indigenous communities in Australia and there are plenty more needs like 'Second Bite" so there will always be opportunities for us to help needy people at home and abroad.
Finally let's give thanks for the wonderful country in which we live, for good food, and for the fellowship we enjoy together.
Thank you to Ross Scholes-Robertson for providing this reflection on 7 September 2022.
