Victor Perton, Founder and Chief Optimism Officer of the Centre for Optimism was last week's presenter. Victor kindly stepped in at short notice and Rotary Melbourne is very grateful.
Victor delivered an entertaining and compelling presentation on ‘The Case for Optimism and the impact of Positive Leadership’
He began by asking those present what makes them optimistic and interesting. Responses included adopting habits of optimism such as reminding ourselves of everything we are grateful for, on a daily basis; telling positive stories, and learning to greet others by asking them to tell us the highlight of their day.
As the audience warmed up, Victor highlighted that we should smile more and say hello to everyone we encounter. Make sure we laugh regularly and revise our greeting to others focusing them to tell positive stories.
This was a most relevant message for us all in an environment where negativity dominates media and politics. You can revisit his presentation, or catch up on it by clicking the You Tube link: watch.
