Eradicating Polio has been the most challenging and noteworthy campaign ever undertaken by Rotary internationally. Over the past 35 years more than 2.5 billion children have received the oral Polio vaccine. Thanks to the support of countless individuals and partners, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative is just a whisker away from complete success. This year, there have been only two reported cases of Wild Poliovirus - in Afghanistan and Pakistan - nevertheless we need to keep fundraising to minimise the risk of international spread of Poliovirus which remains in a small number of identified countries.
This month Past President Robert is challenging himself to walk 250km and to raise $5,000 towards the ‘Walk With Us to End Polio’ fundraising event. Incredibly, every dollar donated will be tripled through the generosity of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation!
