Rotary Melbourne welcomed and inducted Sam McLarty on 28 February 2024 with the classification Corporate Designee - Bionics Institute, and is our youngest ever member at almost 26.
The Bionics Institute is a world leader in the research and development of medical treatments for challenging medical conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, hearing loss, Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, chronic pain and more.
Sam’s role at the Bionics Institute is “Development Coordinator” and he is part of the Rotary Club of Melbourne, along with the Health and Ageing Committee. This is his first association with Rotary and joins as a new member.
Prior to the Bionics Institute, Sam was a player the Collingwood Football Club and was the first person with a cochlear implant to be drafted into the AFL.
