Reflection Dr Peter Hollingworth 23 April 25

Thank you to Peter Hollingworth for providing this reflection on 23 April 2025.

Today we offer thanks for gathering here today in anticipation of Anzac Day on Friday.

Anzac day, observed on April 25th marks the anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli in 1915.  It is a day to honour the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZACs) who served in that campaign and in all conflicts since.

But Anzac Day is more than just a remembrance of history, it is a time to reflect on the values of mateship, bravery, and service that define our nation.  It is a day to recognise not only those who fought but also those who continue to serve in our defence forces.

As we gather here today at the Rotary Club of Melbourne, where our first President was Sir John Monash, let us remember their sacrifices with gratitude and ensure their legacy lives on through our commitment to unity, peace, and respect.

For good fun, good food, good fellowship and the privilege of serving others through Rotary.

Thank you to Peter Hollingworth for providing this reflection on 23 April 25.
