Jessie Harman Reaches Everest Base Camp on Her Birthday – for Polio Eradication
What an amazing, inspiring, outstanding and motivational effort by past Rotary International Director Jessie Harman!
Jessie has just completed an extraordinary personal challenge: walking 6 kilometres every day for 60 days, followed by a trek to Mount Everest Base Camp - reaching the summit of her journey on her birthday this week. Her drive and determination have not only taken her to new heights, but also raised vital funds to support Rotary’s mission to End Polio.
She has been a frequent guest at many Rotary Melbourne events and a great supporter of our projects.
“Thanks to your support, I’ve achieved my goal,” Jessie said. “And just as I’ve achieved mine, so will Rotary achieve its goal of a polio-free world. But we can’t do it without you.”
Jessie’s incredible achievement is a testament to the power of individual commitment in support of global change. She is using her journey to raise funds for Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign. Just $5 can fully protect a child from polio, and every donation is matched 2:1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation- tripling your impact.
There’s still time to support Jessie’s mission and help Rotary make history: Donate here
Together, we walk strong. Together, we end polio.
