Let’s Find 2025's Best Volunteer - Now

Rotarians, we need your nominations. Let’s find an outstanding volunteer worthy of the Sir John Reid Community Service Award. We all hear about or come across wonderful volunteers who fly under the radar, who don’t receive due recognition, despite years of dedicated effort.

Rotary Melbourne annually selects and honours a Victorian community volunteer whose service is deemed outstanding and who has not been formally acknowledged with a major award (a volunteer already recognised with an Australian Honour is ineligible).

The award comprises a special plaque and financial gift to the volunteer’s organisation. The plaque depicts the vulnerable in our community, constrained and limited by their circumstances. The open door reveals a rising sun, symbolising hope and release from limitations. Now able to pursue new opportunities, the supporting hand of the volunteer helps make it happen.
