Sambun Monthly Email in February 2026

Hello Dr. Carol, Peter, Sue and members of Rotary Melbourne,

I hope you’re all staying healthy!!

This month, I am pleased to share my monthly email, which includes updates on my education and NGO activities. I’m happy to share that I successfully completed my first foundation-year subject, Cultural Anthropology. After taking this class over the past four months, I can say that I learned a lot from the professors and my classmates while working as a team on presentations and project assignments. More importantly, I understood the process of taking classes at university and realized that I am required to do more self-study and research, as it is completely distinct from my high school classes. Anyway, this is my first class, yet I was able to get an A as my final result. I don’t promise to maintain this grade, but I am trying my best and hardest to fulfill my obligations as an educator at PUC.

I’d also like to share with you about the business class conducted by CRST alumni, Bong Doeb and Bong Syn, on the topic of Personal Growth and Self-Development. I truly appreciate their sharing style, which kept everything simple and easy to understand, especially each main topic that included real examples and experiences. They delivered interesting lessons, such as understanding the mindset from each other’s perspectives, reviewing SMART goals, and helping me understand the difference between PMA and NMA. Additionally, joining this workshop reminded me to build positive habits by starting with small actions that can lead to great accomplishments one day. All the lessons were well received and noted for application in my real journey, and I will share them with others whenever I have the opportunity.

Lastly, I’m honored to share about the Community Service (CS) Department that just completed the first Build House mission in 2026 after carefully preparing in advance. A pre-build activity was organized to install the footings and prepare the three main house structures before the official construction day. On the main build day, our CS team members and CRST students left early in the morning and arrived at Mrs. Sien Ta’s home, 18 kilometers from Siem Reap. After a short opening session and breakfast, participants were divided into teams to work on different tasks, including roofing, wall framing, installing windows and doors, and building the stairs. Despite the hot weather, everyone worked hard and cooperated well, allowing the house to be fully completed in one day. In addition to the new house, the family also received a bicycle and some fruit trees through collaborative support from Project B - Bicycle for Education and Project T - Trees for Life. We truly appreciate the cooperation that makes the family fulfilling happiness and thankfulness. The activity concluded with a small meeting, expressions of gratitude from the family village chief, and group photos, marking a meaningful and successful mission that brought happiness and safe shelter to the family.

That’s all from me. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read my email and for your continued support. Wishing you all the best in everything you do. I hope you enjoy the photos I’ve attached below.

Best regards-Sambun
