Reflection by Robert Fisher 4 March 26

As we meet today in fellowship and service, we are mindful of the deepening conflict in the Middle East. We see images of suffering, displacement and fear. Lives are being torn apart, and peace feels distant.

For us as Rotarians, this is especially troubling. Rotary is grounded in the belief that peace is more than the absence of war — it is built through understanding, fairness, dialogue, and respect for human dignity.

We cannot control world events, but we can control how we respond to situations. We can choose compassion over anger, understanding over division, and service over silence.

Let us hold in our thoughts all who are suffering, and recommit ourselves to being instruments of peace — in our community and beyond.

Because peace begins with each and every one of us.

For good food and friendships through Rotary, we give thanks.

Thank you to Robert Fisher for your reflection on Wednesday 4 March 26.
