Rotary Melbourne, in collaboration with Keilor East Rotary Club, Rotaract Club of Siem Reap, and The Rotary Foundation - Rotary District, recently played a key role in enhancing water and sanitation facilities at Tuek Chum Secondary School in Cambodia. As part of our commitment to the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) initiative, we were delighted to oversee the installation of a biosand water filtration system and a rubbish incinerator at the school.
On 24th February, the Project W - WASH for Education team conducted vital workshops on water and sanitation, engaging students and the wider rural community in discussions about the importance of clean drinking water for good health. The sessions also covered essential topics such as environmental hygiene and nutrition, aiming to raise awareness and promote sustainable hygiene practices among the students.
This initiative would not have been possible without the dedication and support of our partners. We extend our sincere gratitude to the educators from Cambodia Rural Students Trust (CRST) for their invaluable collaboration and commitment to empowering local communities through education and improved sanitation.
Together, we continue to make a meaningful impact, ensuring that young students have access to safe water and better hygiene facilities for a healthier future.
