On Thursday 9 July 26, 11 Rotary Melbourne members volunteered at the Magpie Nest Café, helping the Salvation Army's Project 614 team serve 94 breakfasts and 180 lunches to people experiencing homelessness and hardship.
The Magpie Nest Café provides more than 10,000 free meals every month and is a welcoming place where people can access not only food, but support and connection. The café is made possible through the passion of volunteers and community partners, including the Collingwood Community Foundation, the Collingwood Football Club and Coles.
Our volunteers enjoyed every interaction with patrons, Salvation Army staff and fellow volunteers, making it a truly rewarding morning. A special thank you to Branko Panich for organising the day.
Service Above Self in action. 💙💛
