Rotary’s theme for November is Foundation, in reflection, our collective efforts result to transformation that heal and empower especially the youth. In every child lies the potential to change the world, one drop, one lesson, one macaroni at a time. Rotary Melbourne launched the literacy program & more at Dangan School, Philippines.
I will now read a message to Rotary Melbourne from the pupils of Dangan.
To the kind men and women of Rotary Melbourne
• We no longer walk and collect water at 6 am, but instead use water from the new school water pump YOU gave us, to drink, wash and water the vegetable garden, YOU gave us, and pick, the papaya, chico and bananas, we eat at morning break.
• We no longer borrow books from elsewhere, but take turns reading in the new library from books YOU sent us.
• During the big storm last week, the ceilings and roof YOU gave, kept us and the books dry.
• Plus, the beans, lentils and macaroni are in our lunch soup.
Your contributions gave us a safer, healthier, and more inspiring learning life. Blessings. Thank you Rotary for an unforgettable care
to us, the children of Dangan Elementary
Thank you to Trevor Nink for reading Ruth Carlos-Martinez's reflection.
