On 25 March 26 Rotary Melbourne proudly recognise and celebrated Trevor Nink — an outstanding Rotarian whose dedication, leadership, and enduring commitment to Service Above Self have made a lasting impact on our Club, our community, and the wider Rotary world. It is with great pleasure that we elevate Trevor to Paul Harris Fellow Double Sapphire.

Trevor joined the Club on 12 July 2006 and, within his first year, had already distinguished himself through exceptional service. His early contributions were recognised with the Club’s Axle Award — also known as the Vice Presidents’ Encouragement Award — presented to a Rotarian who goes above and beyond in the spirit of service.

From the outset, Trevor immersed himself in Club life. He became an active member of the Community Welfare Committee, served as the unofficial Deputy Chair of SecondBite, and quickly emerged as a key contributor within the City Group, later becoming its Group Captain. He also introduced the Youth Achievement Australia program to the Club, strengthening our commitment to youth development.

Trevor is a true “doer.” As once said of the MAHA Team, “We are at the table because we do stuff,” and Trevor has consistently led from the front. He is a team builder who strengthens community relationships through meaningful, relevant, and effective projects.

His leadership extended to the Board as International Service Director, where he played a pivotal role in securing the successful registration of the East Timor Roofing Company — an outcome of lasting significance for the Club. As Vice President Community Service, his clear, professional, and engaging reports reflected both purpose and pride in the Club’s achievements.

Trevor’s commitment to international service is evident through his involvement in the Lubang Island Water Project in the Philippines and his role in establishing the Rotary E-Club of Melbourne, a groundbreaking initiative in District 9800.

A passionate advocate for the Rotary Foundation, Trevor has extensive experience managing global grants and actively promoting the Foundation’s work. His efforts were recognised with the 2020 District Service Award for his humanitarian contributions. Since being named a Paul Harris Fellow in 2012, he has remained a committed donor and champion of its mission.

Beyond Rotary, Trevor’s life reflects a deep commitment to service. Born in Ivanhoe and educated at the University of Melbourne, his professional career took him around the world. Along the way, he contributed to organisations including Habitat for Humanity, the YMCA, Youth Adventure Camp, and Youth Off The Streets — experiences that ultimately led him to Rotary.

Trevor is also a steadfast supporter of Club activities.  He chairs the Thomas Baker Oration Committee, now in its tenth year, served as a Trustee of the Baker Foundation for 12 years retiring in June 2025.  He led the Hepatitis health awareness initiative with Liverwell and through the Around the Bay Project, he has helped raise approximately $20,000 annually for the Smith Family’s Learning for Life program over the past 14 years.

His leadership extends internationally, where he has helped deliver impactful projects while nurturing sister club relationships and forging lasting friendships — both within our Club and across borders.

Quite simply, Trevor Nink is a Rotarian who leads by example. He rolls up his sleeves, contributes wherever needed, and embodies the true spirit of Rotary — a vital cog in the Rotary wheel.

Trevor, your extraordinary service, humility, and unwavering commitment inspire us all. We are proud and honoured to recognise you as a Paul Harris Fellow Double Sapphire.
