Rotarians, we need your nominations. Let’s find an outstanding volunteer worthy of the Sir John Reid Community Service Award. We all hear about or come across dedicated volunteers who fly under the radar, who do not receive due recognition, despite years of unstinting effort.
Rotary Melbourne annually selects and honours a Victorian community volunteer whose service is deemed outstanding and who has not been formally acknowledged with a major award (Australian Honour recipients are ineligible).
The award comprises a special plaque and a generous financial gift to the volunteer’s organisation. The plaque depicts the ideals of service an awardee will display. A desire to assist the vulnerable in our community and those constrained and limited by their circumstances. A genuine capacity to give hope, release from limitations and offer new opportunities. A supporting hand to help make it happen.
