Dan holds a Bachelor of Social Work and has spent much of his career in the community services sector, holding senior leadership roles across homelessness, out-of-home care and foster care, including with Launch Housing and Lighthouse Foundation. Throughout his career, Dan has been passionate about social inclusion and engagement, protecting and supporting vulnerable people, and developing best-practice service models that deliver meaningful outcomes for individuals and families.
His work has also involved building strong partnerships with government, community organisations and key philanthropic groups to advocate for better services and create opportunities for innovation and social impact. More recently, Dan moved into aged care and dementia services and has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Caladenia Dementia Care, a not-for-profit organisation supporting people living with dementia and their families and carers across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. He is passionate about community-based services that enable people living with dementia to live well, stay connected and remain at home for longer, while also supporting the people who care for them.
Dan is married with three children and lives in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Away from work, he owns a 100-acre cattle farm in North East Victoria, where he spends many weekends managing the property and his Angus and Charolais cattle. Much of Dan’s time outside work revolves around family, the farm and supporting his children in their various sporting pursuits.
Dan joined Rotary Melbourne to broaden his community involvement, build new relationships and contribute his experience to worthwhile causes. He looks forward to becoming an active member of the Rotary Club of Melbourne and getting to know his fellow Rotarians.
