Meet a New Member - Emma Amos

Emma Amos was recently inducted into the Rotary Club of Melbourne, although her connection with Rotary began before becoming a member. In 2024, Emma was recognised with the Rotary Young Achievers Award in Leadership in Community Service, acknowledging her contribution to leadership and the community.
Emma is a governance, risk and public health professional and currently works as Lead, in Risk Management, governance and compliance  at VicHealth. Her work involves strengthening governance, risk management, compliance and organisational accountability.
Alongside her professional career, Emma has developed a strong commitment to governance and community leadership. She is a Board Director of Karralika Programs, a not-for-profit organisation supporting individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug dependence. Her involvement in board leadership reflects a longstanding interest in good governance and the role strong organisations can play in improving people's lives.
Emma is also Vice President of Changepreneurs Incorporated, where she has contributed to initiatives supporting culturally and linguistically diverse women through leadership development, mentoring, partnerships and opportunities for economic participation.
Her community involvement extends to multicultural and youth advocacy. Emma has served on the Victorian Multicultural Commission's Regional Advisory Council and has been involved in the Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria's intercultural youth advocacy work, helping to elevate the perspectives of young people from diverse communities. She also mentors aspiring women entrepreneurs and has contributed to a range of community and cultural initiatives.
Emma holds a Master of Public Health specialising in data for decision making from Latrobe University and a Bachelor of Business from Latrobe University, and has undertaken further development in board governance and directorship.
Across her professional, board and community roles, Emma is particularly passionate about inclusive leadership, good governance, public service and creating opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to have a meaningful voice in their communities.
As she begins her journey as a member of the Rotary Club of Melbourne, Emma is looking forward to learning from the experiences of fellow Rotarians, contributing her own skills and perspectives, building new friendships and continuing Rotary's tradition of service above self.
